    Rising Cost of Gold

    Rising Cost of Gold

Like many small makers right now, we’re feeling the ripple effect of rising gold prices, but quality is something we will never compromise on. We use only high-quality gold-filled materials that are made to last, so your pieces can be worn and loved for years to come. Here's why:

Gold-filled jewelry is created by bonding a thick layer of 12–14k gold to a brass core using heat and pressure. The result? Jewelry that’s tarnish-resistant, durable, and gives you the look and feel of solid gold, without the solid gold price tag.  Gold-plated jewelry, on the other hand, has a very thin layer of gold electroplated on top, which often begins to tarnish after just a few months of regular wear.

To offset the higher material costs, I will be switching to a slightly thinner earwire as the standard on all earrings. The thicker ones will be available as an add-on for an additional cost. If you’re someone who tends to lose earrings (no judgment—we’ve all been there), just be sure to use the rubber backs we include. Extras are always available on the earring page too.

Good news: beaded pieces are not increasing, and sterling silver remains a more affordable option. Mixed metals are always a fun way to switch things up as well!

Thank you so much for supporting handmade and small business and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
